After nearly twelve metres and an eighteen centimetre wide tunnel, they walked into a chamber and found bones scattered on the floor. They went back a week later, took pictures and sent it to a geologist, Pedro Boshoff who then notified paleontologist, Lee Berger about the discovery. This expedition results took three years.
