6.2 What ethical issues could arise as a result of digital socialisation?

The ethical issues that could arise are:

  • ·         Fraud:  Identity theft, finance scams, hijacking peoples internet connection


  • ·         Computer Trespassing:  Hacking into peoples’ personal account; phishing by gaining online account holder financial information


  • ·         Bullying/Harassment and Stalking:  Cyber bullying has increased causing suicide.  Victims are being harassed online and social media has made stalking easier for criminals.


  • ·         Spam:  Mass email often have malware attached to it and it often collects personal information through malware.


  • ·         Information Warfare:  This is when computers are hijacked on a large scale and can paralyse websites.
