Steven Tucker was trying to make way for Rick Hunter who was in the Rising Star cave.  He stumbled across a crack that he only heard about and made his way through the narrow crevice.  After nearly twelve metres and an eighteen centimetre wide tunnel, they walked into a chamber and found bones scattered on the floor.  They went back a week later, took pictures and sent it to a geologist, Pedro Boshoff who then notified paleontologist, Lee Berger about the discovery. [Online]  http://www.npr.org/2012/06/03/154234617/napalm-girl-an-iconic-image-of-war-turns-40  [Accessed: 18 May 2017] Digital Communication and Fluencies - “Napalm-Girl’ In my opinion, my initial reaction was yes, the image was inappropriate.  However, the picture was taken in 1972, during the Vietnamese war, and the photographer’s intention was probably to make people aware of what was going on.  Kim Phuc, who was nine years old at the time, was running down the street naked and screaming after her village was attacked.  Her body was more than half burnt and she was beyond help, but the photographer, Nick Ut, took her to the nearest hospital after he took that picture and demanded help.  Despite the nudity policy, Nick’s editors gave the go-ahead to print that picture.
